There’s a geek for everything.
Anita, one of the leaders of Los Angeles NINO, posted this perfect method for folding a mei tai at TheBabyWearer. It’s long been a favorite post, and the method is worth sharing. I took some new photos, because I’ve been wanting to play with my new photo background, but the method is Anita’s. Hurray for mei tai folding geeks!
Here’s a mei tai. (Pronounced “May Tie” or, if you want to be even more authentic, ”May Dye,” but not “My Tie,” which is a cocktail.) The method works for any mei tai, but this, specifically, is an AngelPack mei tai from our lending library:

To make it into a neat, secure bundle for storage or transport, first fold it in half lengthwise … with shoulder strap to shoulder strap and waist strap to waist strap:
Next, fold the shoulder straps into a neat pile on the body of the mei tai:

Starting with the end closest to the shoulder straps, roll the mei tai into a tight bundle:

Fold the waist straps down onto the body, then at a right angle:

Roll the waist straps around the mei tai, then tuck in the ends:

Now, you have a secure bundle!

First off I didn’t know there was a mothers Web Angel pack in the lending library and second.. WAY cool folding method. I’m ashamed to show you mine now.. lol
It makes keeping SEVERAL items in your car much easier.
Very cool! I gotta try that – mine are just balled up in the van!
