BWI of Birmingham maintains a collection, or “library,” of baby carriers, babywearing accessories, and instructional materials. The main benefit of a $30 annual membership in BWI of Birmingham is the privilege of borrowing items from our carrier library. We have the carrier library available at all meetings, where anyone can learn about and try on the library carriers at no charge, and we also use library carriers when we speak and demonstrate for other organizations. These carriers get a lot of exposure and a lot of use!
Most of our carriers were donated by vendors either directly to the chapter or to Babywearing International, Inc. Additionally, several of the carriers were given to our chapter in connection with winning awards during International Babywearing Week or in vendor-sponsored contests.
