Wraparound slings are particularly addictive for people who are (a) really into textiles, or (b) geeky enough to be thrilled by the many possibilities for carrying positions and tying methods. You do not, however, have to be either of these to enjoy wrapping, although you may take a more pragmatic, less frenzied, approach to it.
